The Power Of An Experience

Something I love about traveling is the way it immerses you in a new experience—something unique to that culture and the people who live there. Whether it's the scent of spices in a Moroccan souk, the cozy charm of a Scandinavian coffee shop, or the warmth of a Balinese retreat, these places don’t just serve food, sell products, or offer services. They create a feeling—an experience that lingers long after you leave.

Let me explain this concept by showing you some of my favourite travel experiences, and how you can apply this to your brand.

La Laguna: Imagine being on a holiday, you get to step into the world of gypsies, eat their food and dance to their music.

Island Treasures: Or stepping into the world of a fashionistas closet who has selected pieces from all the world, someone similar to you, with a similar style?

One World: Or getting to stay in the rice fields of Ubud, taking the time to relax and prioritse your health?

Pison, Ubud

One of my all-time favourite spots and memories Is At La Laguna In Bali. Sadly, it’s no longer around, but back in the day, it was more than just a restaurant—it was a world of its own.

You’d step onto a hand-painted bridge and instantly feel transported into a Spanish, boho-chic, gypsy-inspired beach hideaway. The mismatched vintage furniture, handcrafted details, twinkling fairy lights, and live music all wove together seamlessly. Even the drinks felt curated to the experience—each sip adding to the magic of the place.

Was it perfect? No. And that was the beauty of it. It didn’t need to be. What mattered was the cohesion—everything tied back to the same story and feeling. It stood for something. And that’s what made it unforgettable.

Your brand should give a similiar experience…

People don’t just buy products or services—they buy experiences. And just like La Laguna, your brand should create a feeling that customers want to step into, stay in, and return to. It’s not about being the most polished or spending a fortune; it’s about consistency, storytelling, and intentionality.

A strong brand brings everything together—

  • Your visual identity (logo, colours, typography)

  • Your packaging and materials

  • Your marketing and messaging

  • Your customer experience

  • Even your pricing (hint: people will pay more for a premium experience!)

When all these elements align, your brand isn’t just another business—it becomes an experience people remember, what to be a part of and connect with.

But here’s the thing: this isn’t just about travel. This same idea applies to branding. What Experience Are You Creating?

If you want people to fall in love with your brand, ask yourself:

  • What feeling do I want my customers to have?

  • Does every touchpoint reflect my brand’s story?

  • Is there a sense of cohesion between my visuals, messaging, and experience?

You don’t need a massive budget to create something meaningful. You just need clarity on your story and mission—the foundation that makes everything else fall into place.
